The earth pressure balance shield machine is mainly applicable to the excavation of soil stratum, such as soft soil, sand, clay, etc. Its scope of application is wide. Its working principle is to use the cutting cutter head installed in the front to rotate, cut the front soil to form muck, and enter the soil tank behind the cutter head. There is appropriate pressure in the soil tank to keep balance with the water and soil pressure of the excavation face, so as to reduce the disturbance of the shield machine to the formation soil, and thus control the surface settlement. During excavation, the muck will be continuously discharged from the lower part of the soil tank to the waste outlet by the screw conveyor, so as to complete the tunnel excavation.
