According to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, recently, the main bearing with a diameter of 8 meters for the super-large shield machine led by researcher Li Dianzhong and academician Li Yiyi of the Institute of Metals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has been successfully developed.
The main bearing, weighing 41 tons, is the first shield machine main bearing with the largest diameter and single weight manufactured in China. The main bearing will be installed on a super-large shield machine with a diameter of 16 meters for tunnel excavation.
The successful development of the main bearing marks that China has mastered the integrated technology of independent design, material preparation, precision machining, installation and commissioning, testing and evaluation of the main bearing of shield machine.
The maximum axial force carried by the main bearing with a diameter of 8 meters during operation reaches 100000 kN (1 kN is about equal to the gravity of 0.1 tons of objects, and if the weight of an adult Asian elephant is calculated as 4 tons, it is equivalent to the axial force of 2500 Asian elephants), the radial force reaches 10000 kN, and the overturning torque reaches 100000 kN · m.
In order to ensure the high bearing capacity and high reliability of the main bearing, it is particularly required that the bearing steel used to manufacture the main bearing should be high purity, high homogeneity, high toughness and high wear resistance. At the same time, high requirements are put forward for the complete design of the main bearing, processing accuracy, lubricating grease, etc.
In 2020, the Chinese Academy of Sciences launched the strategic pilot science and technology project of "independent and controllable manufacturing of high-end bearings", which has solved 12 core key technical problems in the preparation of main bearing materials, precision machining and complete design, and developed 10 sets of shield machine main bearings with diameters ranging from 3 meters to 8 meters.
